Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 20th December, 2022.

I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Water Services (Amendment) Act 2022 (No. 39 of 2022), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Water Services (Amendment) Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2022.

2. In this Order, “Act of 2022” means the Water Services (Amendment) Act 2022 (No. 39 of 2022).

3. The 16th day of December 2022 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2022 shall come into operation:

(a) Part 1 (other than section 4);

(b) sections 5, 6 and 9(a);

(c) section 27.

4. The 1st day of January 2023 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2022 shall come into operation:

(a) section 4 (other than subsection (4)(b));

(b) in so far as it is not already in operation, Part 2 (other than section 14);

(c) section 28;

(d) Part 4 (other than section 29(d));

(e) the Schedule.

5. The 28th day of April 2023 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2022 shall come into operation:

(a) section 4(4)(b);

(b) section 29(d).

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage by section 1 (3) of the Water Services (Amendment) Act 2022 (No. 39 of 2022), this Order appoints different dates on which specified provisions of that Act come into operation.
