S.I. No. 709/2022 - National Oil Reserves Agency (Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation Rate) Order 2022


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 30th December, 2022.

I, EAMON RYAN, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 44D(2)(a) of the National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007 (No. 7 of 2007) (as adapted by the Communications, Energy and Natural Resources (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2016 ( S.I. No. 421 of 2016 )), and having complied with section 44D(4) of that Act, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007 (Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation Rate) Order 2022.

(2) This Order comes into operation on 1 January 2023.

2. The percentage rate referred to in section 44C(3)(b) of the National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007 (No. 7 of 2007) in respect of the renewable transport fuel obligation shall be 16.985 per cent.

3. The National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007 (Biofuel Obligation Rate) Order 2022 ( S.I. No. 21 of 2022 ) is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

To come into effect on 1 January 2023, this regulation sets the percentage rate referred to in section 44C(3)(b) of the National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007 (No. 7 of 2007) to be 16.985 per cent, thereby replacing the National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007 (Biofuel Obligation Rate) Order 2022 ( S.I. No. 21 of 2022 ).
