S.I. No. 31/2023 - Electoral Reform Act 2022 (Establishment Day) Order 2023


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 10th February, 2023.

I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (Establishment Day) Order 2023.

2. The 9th day of February 2023 is appointed to be the establishment day for the purposes of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage by section 7 of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022), this Order appoints 9 February 2023 as the day on which An Coimisiúin Toghcháin is established.
