Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in | ||

I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (5) of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2023. | ||
2. The 9th day of February 2023 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022) shall come into operation: | ||
(a) paragraphs (h) to (k) of subsection (1) of section 4 of Part 1; | ||
(b) subsections (3) and (4) of section 4 of Part 1; | ||
(c) Part 2 (insofar as it is not already in operation); | ||
(d) section 98 of Chapter 1 of Part 3; | ||
(e) Part 9. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||
(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) | ||
In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage by section 1 (5) of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022), this Order appoints 9 February 2023 as the day on which certain provisions in Parts 1, 2, 3 and 9 of that Act come into operation. |
