I, EAMON RYAN, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Directive 2009/45/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 May 20091 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||||||||||||||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Passenger Ships) (Amendment) Regulations 2023. | ||||||||||||||
2. Schedule 2 to the European Union (Passenger Ships) Regulations 2019 ( S.I. No. 676 of 2019 ) is amended in the Sea Area entry entitled West Coast of Ireland, by substituting for the second row (in relation to “Ballaghaline Point to Trawkeera Point”) the following two rows: | ||||||||||||||

These Regulations amend Schedule 2 to the European Union (Passenger Ships) Regulations 2019, which give effect to Directive 2009/45/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on safety rules and standards for passenger ships, by updating the Sea Areas for the West Coast of Ireland. | ||||||||||||||
