Cooper v Prison Board 1982 JLR 227 (21 October 1982)


Prison-medical officer-duty to "attend at once" to prisoner's "illness"-medical officer's duty to "attend" under Prison (Jersey) Rules 1957, r.76(1) satisfied by prescribing treatment without examining prisoner on receipt of information from responsible, trained hospital officer-whether attendance "at once" depends on all circumstances including nature of complaint and seriousness of illness-to be reasonable by proper medical standards
