BANK OF IRELAND ACT 1860 BANK OF IRELAND ACT 1860 - LONG TITLE An Act to repeal a certain Enactment for restraining the Bank of Ireland from lending Money on Mortgage.{1} [3rd July 1860] Preamble, which recites the Bank of Ireland Act (I) 1781 (c.16(I)) s.7 as to loans by the Bank of Ireland herein-after called the Corporation, rep. by SLR 1892 BANK OF IRELAND ACT 1860 - SECT 1 Bank of Ireland may lend money on mortgage. 1.... it shall be lawful for the said Corporation, or any person or persons on their behalf, to lend or advance any sum or sums of money to be secured by mortgage or sale of lands, tenements, or hereditaments redeemable, if the said corporation shall so think fit. BANK OF IRELAND ACT 1860 - SECT 2 Recited Act and this Act to be read together. 2. So much of the said recited Act as remains unrepealed, and this Act, shall be read and construed together as one Act.
