EXCHEQUER EXTRA RECEIPTS ACT 1868 EXCHEQUER EXTRA RECEIPTS ACT 1868 - LONG TITLE An Act to regulate the Disposal of extra Receipts of Public Departments.{1} [30th March 1868] WHEREAS under the provisions of certain Acts of Parliament, Orders in Council, or alleged ancient usage, certain fees or other casual receipts have been or may be received by persons holding public offices under the Crown, and are applied in aid or diminution of charges borne upon the annual votes of Parliament or upon the Consolidated Fund.... EXCHEQUER EXTRA RECEIPTS ACT 1868 - SECT 1 Payment of casual receipts to the Exchequer. 1. Notwithstanding any Act of Parliament now in force, or Order in Council, or ancient usage, it shall be lawful for the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to direct that any such fees or other casual receipts, or any part of them, shall be paid over to Her Majesty's Exchequer, to the credit of the Consolidated Fund, in such manner as such Commissioners shall from time to time determine, instead of being applied to the purposes aforesaid, in any case where provision shall have been made by Parliament or otherwise to meet the charges to which any such fees or casual receipts would have been applicable if this Act had not passed.
