33.(1) Where there is provided in any hospital vested in the Ministry accommodation in single rooms or small wards, the Ministry may authorise any such accommodation which is not for the time being needed by any patient on medical grounds to be made available for patients who undertake, or in respect of whom an undertaking is given, to pay for the accommodation such charges designed to cover part of the cost thereof as may be determined by the Ministry, and the Ministry may recover those charges. (2) The Ministry may allow such deductions as it thinks fit from the amount of a charge due by virtue of an undertaking given under paragraph (1) to be paid for accommodation in respect of any period during which the accommodation is temporarily vacated by the person for whom it is made available.
