26.(1) Any person who knowingly and wrongfully pawns with a pawnbroker anything belonging to another person shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty pounds or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both such fine and such imprisonment. (2) In addition to any fine imposed on any person under sub-section (1), the court may order that person to pay to the owner by way of compensation any sum not exceeding the full value of the pledge as determined by the court, which sum shall be recoverable as a penal sum adjudged to be paid upon summary conviction.
