POOR RELIEF (IRELAND) ACT 1843 POOR RELIEF (IRELAND) ACT 1843 - LONG TITLE An Act for the further Amendment of an Act for the more effectual Relief of the destitute Poor in Ireland.{1} [24th August 1843] Preamble, which recites 1838 c.56; 1839 c.1, rep. by SLR 1891 Ss.110 rep. by 1850 c.69 s.116; 1868 c.49 s.15; SLR 1874 (No. 2); 1898 c.37 s.110(2) sch.6 Pt.IV; 1969 c.30 (NI) s.132 sch.6; 1972 NI 16 art.63(3) sch.19 Pt.I. Ss.1216 rep. by 1898 c.37 s.110(2) sch.6 Pt.IV; 1948 c.3 (NI) s.83 sch.10 Pt.II; 1950 c.5 (NI) s.141(2) sch.7 POOR RELIEF (IRELAND) ACT 1843 - SECT 17 Guardians may pay expences of prosecuting offenders. 17. It shall be lawful for the guardians of any union to pay any expence reasonably incurred in following, apprehending, or prosecuting any person guilty of any offence against the provisions of the said first-recited Act, or of any Act or Acts to amend the same. The said recited Acts and this Act shall be construed as one Act, except so far as the provisions of any one of such Acts may repeal or alter the provisions of any previous Act.
