SMALL DWELLINGS ACQUISITION ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1948 - LONG TITLE

An Act to remove certain restrictions on the making of advances
under the Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts (Northern Ireland), 1899
to 1947, and to make provision for defraying certain premiums in
respect of Government loans for making such advances and for
purposes connected with the matters aforesaid.

SMALL DWELLINGS ACQUISITION ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1948 - SECT 2
Exchequer to defray certain premiums in respect of Government loans
for making advances under Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts.

2. Where

(a)by virtue of sub-section (5) of section one of the Small
Dwellings Acquisition Act, 1899, the proprietor of a house in
respect of which an advance has been made under that Act repays to
the [district council] the whole or any part of the principal
outstanding in respect of the advance; or

(b)the [district council] in exercise of any power of sale or
taking possession recover the whole or any part of the principal
outstanding in respect of any such advance;

Short title, construction, citation and interpretation.

3.(1) This Act may be cited as the Small Dwellings Acquisition Act
(Northern Ireland), 1948, and shall be construed as one with the
Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts (Northern Ireland), 1899 to 1947,
and those Acts and this Act may together be cited as the Small
Dwellings Acquisition Acts (Northern Ireland), 1899 to 1948.
