Vice-chairman. 13.(1) A council may elect a councillor to be vice-chairman of the council and the vice-chairman shall, unless he resigns or becomes disqualified, hold office until the chairman elected at the next annual meeting of the council becomes entitled to act, and during that time shall continue to be a member of the council notwithstanding the provisions of section 11(2)(c) of the Electoral Law Act (Northern Ireland) 1962. (2) Subject to any standing orders made by the council, anything authorised or required to be done by, to or before the chairman in relation to the business of the council may be done by, to or before the vice-chairman. (3) Notwithstanding anything in section 18(3)(a) of the Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954, no function shall be exercisable by or in relation to a deputy mayor or a deputy lord mayor that is not exercisable by or in relation to any other vice-chairman of a council.
