SALARIES

Salaries (Comptroller and Auditor General) (No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005

  Made 3rd November 2005 
  To be laid before Parliament under paragraph 7(3) of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland Act 2000
  Coming into operation 30th December 2005 

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 4(1) of the Audit (Northern Ireland) Order 1987[1] and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following Order:

Title and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the Salaries (Comptroller and Auditor General) (No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005 and shall come into operation on 30th December 2005.

Revocation
     2. The Salaries (Comptroller and Auditor General) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005[2] is hereby revoked.

Salary
     3. The annual salary payable to the holder of the office of Comptroller and Auditor General shall be increased from £122,435 to £126,108 with effect from 1st April 2005.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)


This Order provides for an increase in the annual salary payable to the Comptroller and Auditor General following recommendations made in the Report of the Review Body on Senior Salaries in 2005 (HMSO CM 6451).

The increase is made with effect from 1st April 2005 under Article 4(1) of the Audit (Northern Ireland) Order 1987.

Article 2 revokes the Salaries (Comptroller and Auditor General) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005 SR 11/05, which took effect from 1st April 2004.
