This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 17(1) and (3) of the Deregulation and Contracting Out (Northern Ireland) Order 1996[1], and now vested in the Department for Social Development[2].
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Contracting Out (Functions Relating to Child Support) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 and shall come into operation on 3rd November 2006.
Amendment of the Contracting Out (Functions Relating to Child Support) Order
2.
In Article 2 of the Contracting Out (Functions Relating to Child Support) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006[3] (contracting out of functions relating to child support)—
"
(3) Paragraph (1) shall not include any function if—
(a) it is a power or right of entry, search or seizure into or of any property; or
(b) it is a power or duty to make subordinate legislation.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order makes amendments to the Contracting Out (Functions Relating to Child Support) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 ("the Order").
Article 1 makes provision for citation and commencement.
Article 2 makes some minor amendments to, and removes a sub-paragraph from, the Order. It adds a new paragraph which clarifies the functions listed in sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) as excluded functions which may be contracted out by the Department for Social Development.
