The Food Benefit Schemes (2003 Order) (Commencement) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(3) of the Food Benefit Schemes (Northern Ireland) Order 2003[1].

Citation and interpretation
     1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Food Benefit Schemes (2003 Order) (Commencement) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006.

    (2) In this Order "milk token" has the same meaning as in regulation 1(2) of the Welfare Foods Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1988[2].

Amendment of the Food Benefit Schemes (2003 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006.
     2. —(1) The Food Benefit Schemes (2003 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006[3] shall be amended as follows.

    (2) For Article 2 there shall be substituted—

Appointed Day

—(1) Subject to paragraph (2) the day appointed for the coming into operation of Article 3 of the Food Benefit Schemes (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 shall be 27th November 2006.

(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply in the case of milk supplied in exchange for a milk token before 27th November 2006."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Food Benefit Schemes (2003 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 to bring into operation Article 3 of the Food Benefit Schemes (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 on 27th November 2006.

Savings are provided in the case of milk supplied in exchange for a milk token before 27th November 2006.
