LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The Local Government (Boundaries 2006) (Commencement No.1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007
The Department of the Environment makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(3)(b) of the Local Government (Boundaries) (Northern Ireland) Order 2006[1]:
Citation
1.
This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Boundaries 2006) (Commencement No.1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007.
Appointed day
2.
For the purposes of enabling the Secretary of State and the District Electoral Areas Commissioner to perform their functions under Article 2 of the District Electoral Areas Commissioner (Northern Ireland) Order 1984[2], the appointed day for the coming into operation of Article 3 of the Local Government (Boundaries) (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 is 12th March 2007.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into operation Article 3 of the Local Government (Boundaries) (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 to enable the Secretary of State and the District Electoral Areas Commissioner to perform their functions under Article 2 of the District Electoral Areas Commissioner (Northern Ireland) Order 1984.
