The Social Security (1989 Order) (Commencement No. 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007

The Department for Social Development makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(2) of the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1989[1] and now vested in it[2].

Citation and interpretation
     1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Social Security (1989 Order) (Commencement No. 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007.

    (2) In this Order "the Order" means the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1989.

Appointed day
     2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of—

(a) paragraph 3(1), (3) and (4) of Schedule 5 to the Order (non-compliance: compulsory levelling up) for the purposes of—

(i) paragraph 5A[

(b) Article 25 of the Order (equal treatment for men and women) in so far as it relates to the provisions specified in paragraph (a),

is 24th August 2007.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the coming into operation of paragraph 3 (in part) of Schedule 5 to the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1989 for the purposes of paragraphs 5A and 5B of that Schedule on 24th August 2007.
