The Department for Social Development makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 118(1) of the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Pensions (2008 No. 2 Act) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009.
2. The following provisions of the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 shall come into operation on 1st April 2009–
(a) in Schedule 6 (amendments of Schedule 6 to the 2005 Order)–
(i) paragraphs 1 to 9,
(ii) paragraph 13 for the purpose only of the insertion by paragraph 14 of paragraphs 25B to 25F of Schedule 6 to the 2005 Order (but not for the purpose of making regulations or any other purpose),
(iii) paragraph 14 except for the purpose of the deferral of compensation entitlement in the definition of "relevant age" in the inserted paragraph 25B, and
(iv) paragraphs 16 to 18; and
(b) section 100 in so far as it relates to those provisions.
3. Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 (revaluation of accrued amounts etc.) and section 80(1) in so far as it relates to that Part shall come into operation on 6th April 2009.

This Order brings into operation provisions of the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 ("the Act").
Article 1 provides for citation.
Article 2 brings into operation on 1st April 2009 paragraphs 1 to 9, 13 and 14 (partially) and 16 to 18 of Schedule 6 to the Act and section 100 in so far as it relates to those paragraphs.
Article 3 brings into operation on 6th April 2009 Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Act and section 80(1) in so far as it relates to that Part.
(This note is not part of the Order)
The following provisions of the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 have been brought into operation by an earlier commencement order as from the date shown.
