The Department for Social Development makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 134(2) and 171(1), (3) and (4) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(1) and now vested in it(2).
The Social Security Advisory Committee has agreed that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it(3).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Fund (Cold Weather Payments) (General) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and shall come into operation on 1st November 2012.
2. In the Schedule to the Social Fund (Cold Weather Payments) (General) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1988(4) for "St Angelo" substitute "Thomastown".

These Regulations amend the Schedule to the Social Fund (Cold Weather Payments) (General) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1988 consequential upon the closure by the Meteorological Office of the St Angelo weather station and its replacement by the new Thomastown station. The postcode districts linked to the station remain unchanged.
