1. This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012, and shall come into operation on 14th March 2012.
2. There shall be added to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 with effect from 1st February 2012, the office of Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland(3).

This Order adds the office of Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 for which the Department of Finance and Personnel may make pension schemes.

The office of the Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland was established by section 45 of and Schedule 8 to the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (C.26) as amended by paragraphs 4 and 24 of Schedule 13 to the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Devolution of Policing and Justice Functions) Order 2010 (S.I. 2010/976)
