The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 55(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014 and shall come into operation on 8th September 2014.
2. In regulation 93 of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999(2) (over-riding weight restrictions), for "exceeded" in each place where it occurs substitute "equalled or exceeded".

These Regulations amend regulation 93 of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999 by changing the upper limits on weight bands for vehicles in line with Directive 1999/62/EC.
