Coming into operation
1st January 2015
1. These Regulations may be cited as The Dogs (Licensing and Identification) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2015.
2. (1) The Dogs (Licensing and Identification) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012(3) are amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) Regulation 7 (Licence identification) is revoked.
(3) After regulation 9 (Conditions for valid microchipping), insert-
9A. Where the information referred to in regulation 9(2)(b) changes at any time after the recording of that information on the database, the keeper shall notify the operator of the database with the new information as soon as reasonably practicable.".

These Regulations amend The Dogs (Licensing and Identification) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 (S.R. 2012 No. 132).
Regulation 7 (Licence identification) is revoked, removing the requirement for dogs to wear a Council issued coloured licence tag attached to their collars.
Regulation 9A (Updating information) makes provision to ensure that all information on the microchip database is up-to-date.
The Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland was renamed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development by Article 3(4) of the Departments (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/283 (N.I. 1))
