The Department for Regional Development(1) makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 68(1), (3) and (5) of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993(2) and now vested in it(3).
The Department in accordance with Article 68(4) of that Order is of the opinion that the road described in the Schedule is not necessary for motor vehicles.
Notice has been published, served and displayed in compliance with paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Schedule 8 to that Order.
Two objections have been received and subsequently withdrawn.
1. This Order may be cited as The College Street, Belfast (Stopping-Up) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016 and shall come into operation on 16th March 2016.
2.-(1) The road described in the Schedule shall be stopped-up to motor vehicles at the line specified therein.
(2) The Department shall carry out such works as it considers necessary to prevent or restrict to such extent as the Department thinks fit, access to the road described in the Schedule by motor vehicles.
3.-(1) All existing cables, wires, mains, pipes or other apparatus placed along, across, over or under the road to be stopped-up shall be retained.
(2) All existing rights as to the use or maintenance of such cables, wires, mains, pipes or other apparatus shall be preserved.

College Street, Belfast, at its junction with College Avenue and College Square East more particularly delineated and shown by the line marked A-B on Map No. DR1/16/58483.
A copy of the map has been deposited at the Department's Headquarters, Room 3-01, Clarence Court, 10-18 Adelaide Street, Belfast, and TransportNI Eastern Division, Hydebank, 4 Hospital Road, Belfast.
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order stops up the road described in the Schedule to motor vehicles at the line specified therein.
