25 August 2005, Local government (Borough council)
The complainant requested details of the total amount of money paid to the Former Temporary Finance Officer employed by the Council. The Council refused to provide the information claiming that the exemption in section 40 (2) applied. As the disclosure of the information would not breach the first data protection principle, the Commissioner is of the view that the disclosure of the information in question would not breach the Data Protection Act. Therefore, section 40 is not engaged.
