Summary: The request was for various documents relating to the maintenance of standards on the University's pharmacy courses, including information about pass rates, passing grades and the maintenance of numbers. The University has already released some information about this matter, but on this occasion withheld various documents on the grounds that their release would prejudice the University's commercial interests. The Commissioner has however decided that the withheld documents should be released, as there is a very strong public interest in academic standards being maintained, particularly in relation to the education of pharmacists who, on completion of their courses, will dispense medicines to the public.
