Royal Mail (Decision Notice) [2006] UKICO FS50086695 (26 April 2006)

Summary: The complainant requested information from the Royal Mail on 3 May 2005 but received no response. He complained to Postwatch and was advised to direct his request to another address, which he did no 8 July 2005. The public authority stated that it responded on 22 July 2005 but this was not received by the complainant. Following the Commissioner's intervention the public authority responded on 21 December 2005, but did not provide the information specified in the request until 13 March 2006. The Royal Mail therefore exceeded the 20 working day time limit for response.
