Summary: The complainant requested information concerning the circumstances of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by the armed forces. The public authority refused this request and cited the exemption provided by section 26(1)(b) (prejudice to the capability, effectiveness or security of the armed forces) of the Act. The Commissioner finds that this exemption was cited correctly and, therefore, the public authority is not required to disclose the information. The Commissioner also finds, however, that the public authority failed to comply with the requirement of section 17(3)(b) in its handling of the request.
