Summary: The complainant requested information from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) about a recent contract awarded for repatriation services. The MoD refused to disclose the information citing the exemption in sections 21 (information accessible by other means), 41 (information provided in confidence) and 43 of the Act (commercial interests). The complainant narrowed the scope of his request when he brought his complaint to the Commissioner. With respect to the narrower scope, the Commissioner has not found the exemption in section 43 to be engaged, and therefore requires that part of the requested information to be disclosed.
