Summary: The complainant asked the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) for information relating to the use of airbases in the UK and or UK-controlled airbases overseas for the purposes of rendition/extraordinary-rendition flights. Due to the lack of clarity as to the scope of the request, the Commissioner was unable to determine whether the handling of the request was in compliance with the Act. Accordingly, the Commissioner has required the FCO to reconsider the request.
