Summary: The complainant requested information concerning nine cases in which the defendants were convicted of crimes, including murder and manslaughter, relating to the deaths of disabled people. The public authority refused the requests, citing the exemptions provided by sections 30(1)(c) (information held by the public authority for the purposes of any criminal proceedings which it has the power to conduct) and 40(2) (personal information). The Commissioner finds that the public authority cited the exemption provided by section 40(2) correctly and it is not required to disclose the information.
