Summary: The complainant requested information relating to the number of employment tribunal claims brought against Northern Ireland civil service departments from 2000 onwards, defended as well as undefended. The Information Commissioner-™s decision is that the Department of Finance and Personnel for Northern Ireland (DFPNI) was incorrect to claim a reliance on section 14 of FOIA. The Information Commissioner therefore requires DFPNI to either disclose the information or issue a valid refusal notice citing a valid exemption in accordance with FOIA.
Section of Act/EIR & Finding: FOI 14 - Complaint Upheld
