Summary: The complainant made a five part request for financial information about a charity, Bury Metropolitan Arts Association (BMAA), held by Bury Metropolitan Borough Council (the council). The council provided some information but withheld the remainder relying on section 41 and section 43(2) as the information that had been provided in confidence and the remainder would prejudice commercial interests. During the course of the Commissioner-™s investigation, the council also agreed to provide some further information to the complainant. The Commissioner-™s decision is that the council has correctly relied on section 41 and section 43(2) to withhold the remainder of the requested information. Accordingly, he does not require the council to carry out any steps.
