Summary: The complainant has requested information relating to the authorisation of a statement read out at a Policy and Resources Committee meeting. Despite the intervention of the Commissioner, the Council of the Isles of Scilly (-˜the council-™) has not provided an adequate response to the request in accordance with the FOIA. The Commissioner has found breaches of sections 1(1)(a), 17(1)(b), 17(7)(a) and 17(7)(b). He therefore reminds the council of its obligations under the FOIA and requires the council to state whether it holds the information requested and, if applicable, either provide any information it identifies as falling within the scope of the request or issue a valid refusal notice under section 17(1).
