Summary: The complainant has requested from HM Treasury (-the Treasury-) information that it held related to the central forecasts contained in the Bank of England-s Inflation Report published in February 2012. The Treasury withheld the information under sections 29(1) (prejudice to economic and financial interests of the United Kingdom) and 35(1) (formulation of government policy). The Commissioner-s decision is that the Treasury has correctly applied section 29(1) to the withheld information and therefore does not require it to take any further steps to ensure compliance with the legislation.
