Summary: The complainant requested information recording a review of the credibility of the legal aid system carried out at the behest of the Justice Secretary. The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) refused to disclose this information and cited the exemption provided by section 35(1)(a) (formulation and development of government policy) of the FOIA. The Commissioner-™s decision is that section 35(1)(a) was cited correctly and so it was not required to disclose this information.
