The complainant has requested information about communications with the Agricultural Biotechnology Council (ABC), which represents the GM crops industry. Defra provided the complainant with some information, it withheld some information under regulation 12(4)(e), regulation 12(5)(f) and regulation 13 of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), and it confirmed that it did not hold any further information relevant to the scope of the request under regulation 12(4)(a) EIR. The Commissioner’s decision is that Defra has correctly applied regulation 12(4)(a), 12(4)(e), 12(5)(f) and 13 EIR. The Commissioner requires no steps to be taken.
