The complainant has requested information from the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland (PONI) relating to a complaint he submitted. PONI provided some information, advised that some information was not held, and refused to provide the remainder of the requested information. The Commissioner’s decision is that PONI was entitled to respond that it did not hold some of the requested information, and PONI was entitled to withhold other information under section 40(2) of the FOIA. The Commissioner does not require any steps to be taken in relation to this request.
