17 September 2014, Police and criminal justice
The complainant has requested information relating to the Metropolitan Police Service (the “MPS”) investigation into the death of Sandra Rivett and or the subsequent disappearance of Lord Lucan. The MPS has confirmed that it holds information but has found it to be exempt from disclosure under sections 30(1)(investigations and proceedings) and section 40(2)(personal information). The Commissioner’s decision is that the exemption at section 30(1) is engaged and that the public interest favours maintaining the exemption. No steps are required.
