The complainant requested information relating to Mahmood Hussein Mattan, an individual whose conviction for murder was overturned. Ministry of Justice (MoJ) provided some information within the scope of the request, but withheld the remainder citing section 40(2) of FOIA (personal information). The Commissioner’s decision is that MoJ withheld information appropriately. He requires no steps to be taken. This decision notice is currently under appeal to the Tribunal.
