BAILII is celebrating 24 years of free online access to the law! Would you consider making a contribution?
No donation is too small. If every visitor before 31 December gives just £1, it will have a significant impact on BAILII's ability to continue providing free access to the law.
Thank you very much for your support!

The complainant requested information from the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) relating to proceedings in the County Courts involving named defendants. The MOJ refused to provide the requested information relying on section 32(1)(a), (b) and (c) (court records) and section 40(2) (personal information) of FOIA. The Commissioner has investigated MoJ’s application of section 32(1)(c). The Commissioner has concluded that MoJ is entitled to rely on section 32(1)(c) to withhold the information. He requires no steps to be taken.
