The complainant requested information relating to a speech by the then Minister for the Civil Service. The Cabinet Office refused the request under section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) as it considered compliance with the request would exceed the appropriate limit. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Cabinet Office can refuse the complainant’s request under section 12(1) of the Act. No steps are required.
