University of Leicester
The complainant has requested information concerning the GENVASC study. The University of Leicester (‘the University’) released some information; directed the complainant to where other information is already published and withheld some information under section 22A (research). During the Commissioner’s investigation the University voluntarily released that information – the study protocol. The Commissioner’s decision is that: The University has released all the information it holds that falls within the scope of the complainant’s request and has complied with section 1(1) of the FOIA. The University was not entitled to rely on section 22A when it originally withheld some of the requested information. The University has now disclosed the withheld information and the Commissioner does not require it to take any steps to ensure compliance with the legislation.
