Independent Office for Police Conduct

The complainant submitted a request for information asking whether staff working in the Independent Office for Police Conduct’s internal investigations unit, were ex police officers or staff. The IOPC withheld in the requested information, citing section 40(2) (3rd party personal information) of the FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Independent Office for Police Conduct has applied section 40(2) of the FOIA appropriately. The Commissioner does not require the Independent Office for Police Conduct to take any steps as a result of this decision.
