Newry, Mourne and Down District Council

The complainant has requested information from Newry, Mourne & Down District Council (‘the Council’) in relation to the 2016 Firmus Energy Newry City Triathlon & 2016 Borderman Half Distance Triathlon.  The Council refused to disclose the requested information, citing section 40(2) of the FOIA as a basis for non-disclosure. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Council has correctly applied section 40(2) of the FOIA to the requested information.  The Commissioner requires no steps to be taken.
