Cabinet Office

The complainant has requested the first two of 32 files relating to the ‘Spycatcher’/Peter Wright case between 1986 and 1987.  The Cabinet Office withheld the information requested under section 22(1) (information intended for future publication) and section 23(1)(information supplied by, or relating to, bodies dealing with security matters) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The Commissioner has concluded that the Cabinet Office was entitled to withhold the information requested under section 23(1) of the Act. No steps are required.
