Financial Ombudsman Service

The complainant requested information about the background and length of employment of a member of staff. The Financial Ombudsman Service (“the FOS”) withheld the information under the exemption provided for personal data by section 40(2) of the FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that the FOS correctly applied section 40(2). The Commissioner does not require the FOS to take any steps.
