BBC

The complainant has requested information about audience research contained in an annual report. The British Broadcasting Corporation initially refused to provide any information, but subsequently indicated where some of the information could be found and also denied holding some of the requested information. The Commissioner’s decision is that any information the BBC held within the scope of elements [1] and [8] of the request would be held for the purposes of journalism, art or literature and would therefore fall outside of the FOIA. The Commissioner does not require any further steps to be taken. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2021/0220 under appeal.

FOI 1: Complaint not upheld

Decision notice: IC-76825
