The Royal Mint

The complainant has requested The Royal Mint (RM) to disclose the total number of one ounce gold, silver and platinum “Britannia's” minted since 2013 to 2021 year by year. RM refused to disclose the requested information under section 43 of FOIA (commercial interests). The Commissioner’s decision is that RM is not entitled to refuse to disclose the requested information in accordance with section 43 of FOIA. He therefore requires RM to disclose the requested information to the complainant.

FOI 43: Complaint upheld

Decision notice: 183154
