Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police

The complainant requested information relating to charging referrals made by the police. South Yorkshire Police refused to comply with the request on the grounds that it was vexatious within the meaning of section 14(1) (vexatious request) of FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that South Yorkshire Police was entitled to rely on section 14(1) to refuse the request. The Commissioner requires no steps to be taken as a result of this decision.
